Some components of this kit do NOT fit for a direct repair of clutches of the first generation. There is no exact date when the first generation of clutches was replaced by the second generation. Depending on the vehicle model it seems to have been around 2010/2011. In the first generation of the clutch, different retainers and probably different springs were in use.
We know that factory-rebuilt clutches of the first generation have been upgraded with the new kind of plastic spring brackets, however we believe that additional amendments of other components took place. Therefore the plastic retainers of this kit alone cannot be used for the first generation of clutches.
The quantity and kind of retainers required may variate with different clutches. Please make sure to use the correct combination of retainers. The content of the kit is sufficient only for clutches which use 4 pairs of start springs. See our Product Info "IDS-6DCT450-Clutch Springs" and "IDS-6DCT450/451-Double Clutch".
manufacturer information: The gasoline variants have ever been welded due to engine speed – centrifugal forces of the higher gasoline engine speeds demand welding of the damper shells. The Diesel variants were unified after EOP in 2015/16 and were then all welded, too. Reason: only one damper shell combination instead of two, easier production schedule and thus pricing from suppliers, although shells had to weld ed for Diesel now as well. Therefor there are only welded version now from BW
PLEASE CHECK CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLATION. WE WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THE INSTALLATION OF A WRONG SPARE PART/COMPONENT.
Previous parts are no longer available. Please follow the manufacturer's replacement instructions.
